Through education, prevention, and intervention, our Horizons Exploratory Academy school counselor is available to support and meet all students wherever they may be. School counseling sets the foundation for developing the knowledge and skills necessary for becoming confident and competent learners, and knowing where and when to access support throughout a student's school career.
Through the use of data and assessment, our counselor provides classroom and small group social emotional lessons, group and individual counseling, and referrals to community providers for longer term support. Our school counselor collaborates with teachers, parents, and guardians on identification and intervention of students' social/emotional needs, which is essential in removing barriers to learning and developing skills for life and academic success.
